It was a slow month. I think with how much I had going on last month, my brain was unconsciously slowing me down.
At the beginning of the month, I combed through a large portion of my editor’s second-round edits. Mielea’s Lost is looking closer to the finished manuscript. I will likely do another read-through before deciding what’s next.
I would love to have Mielea’s Lost published by the end of the year. Though I want to make sure I have everything organized for myself before hitting the publishing button. As organized as possible. I know I still need a book cover, blurb, and proofreader before the book is good to go.
After that, I want to figure out how to publish widely. I don’t want to be stuck to just Amazon as an income source. It will be a big chunk of the royalties, no matter what, as an indie-published author. I want to have more options, not just for myself as the creator, but for my future readers. That is another day’s problem to figure out.
There were a few more pages added to Broken Shackles. I spent some time figuring out some world-building, too. My characters are visiting different planets that I haven’t fleshed out yet.
Toward the end of the month, my train of thought switched gears. I started figuring out more world-building details for my Project Gamma Universe. One of my Romance WIPs is tied into this world. So once I started world-building, I was hit with four pages of plot and character interactions. Progress is progress, so I’m not complaining.
For May’s goals, I’m going to try to focus on either drafting more Broken Shackles or the Romance WIP. Project Phoenix’s second draft might have to wait till I’m fully done editing Mielea’s Lost. Trying to edit two books at once might be too much for me to balance at the moment.
See you next month!
