At the beginning of the month, I injured myself at work. I cut my knuckle open while cleaning up for the night on a close shift. For the first half of the month, not much story progress or edits were made due to it.
Thankfully, it happened while I was at work, so no one questioned the few limitations that I had. It was frustrating to keep the cut from opening. As of now, it has healed, and there is a scar. It healed quicker than I thought, given how often some part of it would bust open.
At about the halfway point of the month, I wrote a few story bits for other projects. Then, by the end of the month, the last three chapters of Mielea’s Lost were completed. The third draft ended up at 101k words. This was a 27k-word cut from draft two.
Next month, I plan to let the draft sit and then reread it again to fix any other errors I see. After that, I will likely look into an editor or manuscript evaluation.
The plan for next month is to restart book 2 of the Mielea’s Lost series and make some progress on Project Phoenix.
There will be no blog post next month for updates. See you in July.
