February/March 2025

After coming back from vacation, I decided to save the update post for this month. Significant progress has been made in my current WIPS.

While away from my normal creative workspace, another idea came to mind for a story. I wrote down as much as possible. It now sits in the never-ending queue of WIPs.

Our friend’s cat, Vinny, would occasionally inspect my progress from his perch on the back of the couch. He’d meow at me to remind me that a petting break was needed. I love cats, and my cat years ago would do the same thing.

Over the span of two months, I edited seven chapters of Mielea’s Lost and cut an entire chapter. While reading it, there wasn’t much going on. So, the fluff had to go.

At the end of February, Project Phoenix is at 17k words. More progress was made in March. I have been writing out the first draft by hand. The newest pages have not been added to the digital copy.

Some small snippets were written down for a story I started outlining in December. I’m not sure where it lands in the queue, but that will be determined after the first draft of Project Phoenix is done.

See you next month!
